GILI TRAWANGAN

Gili means small island in the local language. This small island is only 338 hectare wide, separated by the sea from lombok island.

going to trawangan can be reached by boat for about 30 minutes from bangsal port which is 60 km from lombok international airport. Tourists like Edeline flooeded the small island especially on peak season between july and september and at the end of the year.

the main purpose of the tourists is certanily to enjoy the clean white sandy beach, basking in the sting of the sun, snorkeling in the clear blue sea, surfing, diving, bicycling and cidomo (horse-drawn carrieage) riding around the island. In trawangan there are also turtle hatching nursery, migrating birds and unpolluted air.

at the peak of holiday season, 750 to 1000 foreign tourists swarming over gili trawangan. The small island turnd into a "world village". In the streets, cafes, hotels, and beaches, white skinned people from different countries dominate the island. Their average visit sometimes is more than the local population numbering 1600 people.
