RINJANI VOLCANO FOR TREKING

Rinjani, rising as high as 3,7 thousand meters above sea leve is one of the most beautiful mountain panoramas in indonesia. The 41,3 thousand hectares area around it has been established as the national park. The uniqueness of Rinjani lays on the lake segara anak which extends 11 thousand square meters with a depth of 230 meters. Segara anak means the child of sea, it is so named because the water is as blue as the sea water. Water flowing from the lake forming exotic waterfalls, flowing through a steep ravine.

At segara anak there are lots of fishes like carp and tilapia. There we can camp and go fishing as much as we want. Starting from senaru the route is ascending without pause with gentle weather through the dense forest. Most climbers choose the sembalun route to save 700 m of altitude. The sembalun route is rather long but plane and the weather is warmer because it passes a scorching savanna.

In 2005, Rinjani receives an award for "Tourism for Tomorrow 2005" as the three best tourism destination from the world travel and tourism council. Every year thousand of people come to visit Rinjani and its segara anak who never loses its charm.
